Objective

The student
• deepens their knowledge of the basic techniques of music conducting
• becomes familiar with conducting various styles, and learns to read scores
• further develops their conducting skills and their ability to respond to the needs of different performance ensembles.

Content

The studies include practising a diverse range of repertoire, learning to read scores, and exploring various conducting styles.

Qualifications

Completion of the Conducting Music 1 or equivalent knowledge and skills.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

The student can conduct a musical performance using a variety of conducting techniques from a score. The student can interpret pieces in a style-appropriate manner, considering dynamics and other musical elements.
