Objective
Upon course completion, the student will have broadened their instrumental skills of artistic expression in their chosen style or alternatively have learned new modes of expression in a secondary instrument of their choice. Upon course completion, the student's means of artistic expression will have expanded.
Content
Students may choose secondary instrument studies or other additional studies in artistic expression for a total of six hours per semester. The aim of the course is either to broaden one's knowledge of their main instrument in their primary artistic area or to learn modes of expression of a secondary instrument that support those of the main instrument. Teaching is either one-to-one instruction or group learning.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed
The student provides an artistic demonstration of what they have learned.

Objective
Opintojakson suoritettuaan opiskelija on syventänyt taitojaan omassa instrumentissaan valitsemallaan taiteellisen ilmaisun alueella tai vaihtoehtoisesti oppinut uusia ilmaisukeinoja valitsemassaan sivuinstrumentissa. Opintojakson suoritettuaan opiskelijan taiteelliset ilmaisukeinot ovat laajentuneet.
Content
Opiskelija voi valita sivuinstrumenttiopintoja tai muita taiteellisen ilmaisun lisäopintoja yhteensä kuusi tuntia lukukaudessa. Opintojakson tavoitteena on joko syventää pääinstrumentin osaamistaan valitsemallaan taiteellisella alueella tai harjoitella pääinstrumentin ilmaisua tukevan sivuinstrumentin ilmaisukeinoja. Opetus toteutetaan joko yksilö- tai ryhmäopetuksena.
