Objective
After completing the studies, the student is able to guide and teach skills of their main instrument in group tuition. The student understands group dynamics, is able to guide the formation of a learning group and support the learning of the individuals in that group. The student is able to recognize learning phases in the group and in the individuals. They can find and produce solutions in individual and group learning situations.
The student is able to guide music-making and improvisation according to the objectives of the group. They are able to use elements of music creatively in teaching and guide the consideration of the musical and the stylistic context in group improvisation. They are able to recognize groups’ readiness to improvise, know how to encourage and provide tools to develop readiness.
The student has readiness to produce pedagogical material for the needs of their group as well as to motivate and inspire group members. They are able to give feedback in the group respecting and supporting the strengths of the individuals in that group.
Content
Group development, group dynamics, differentiation in a group, instrument-specific contents, genre-specific contents. Teaching practice: Tutoring of pair or small group tuition (2 learner pairs/groups). Observation and guided reflection.
Qualifications
Instrument One-to-One Tuition 3 course or equivalent skills.

- Guiding a learning group in teaching practice and participating in guidance and feedback sessions
- Completing learning assignments within the given timetable
