Objective

The student
• can design information graphics
• understands the principles of information visualisation
• can select appropriate production and publishing environments and design tools
• can choose the most appropriate visualisation method for communicating information
• is able to produce simple moving images.

• Uses, purpose and objectives of information graphics and data visualisation
• Design of the visual information system
• Different ways and means of implementing information visualisation
• Presentation of an information graphic set

Qualifications

Mastering the learning outcomes of the Basics of Graphic Design and Technical Capabilities and Motion Graphics courses.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student
• can design and implement information graphics for different publishing channels
• is able to convert the given data into a visually understandable format
• is able to produce simple motion graphics.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student
• can design and implement high-quality information graphics for different publishing channels
• is able to search for and organise data for visualisation
• is able to convert the data into a visually understandable format and justify their choice of visualisation
• can apply the rules of graphic design, typography and information visualisation in their work
• understands their responsibility as a communicator of information
• is able to produce moving information graphics.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student
• is able to design and implement excellent information graphics for different publishing channels
• can search for data of interest for information visualisation, and organise and combine the data they collect
• is able to transform the data obtained into a clear, reasoned and accurate information format
• is able to develop their skills in graphic design, typography and information visualisation in their work
• understands their responsibility as a communicator of information
• is able to produce mobile information graphics.
