Objective

The student
• becomes acquainted with the principles and methods of concept design
• understands the benefits of concept design as part of the product development process
• understands the entire user-oriented product design process and is able to apply it in their design work
• is able to make a productisation plan, instructions for making a product and to make a prototype of the product
• presents their plans in a professional manner and in accordance with industry practice.

• Principles and methods of concept design
• User-driven product design process
• Manufacture of protomodel
• Drawing of product images and instructions
• Documentation and presentation of the process

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student
• knows the principles, concepts and methods of concept design
• masters the user-driven product design process
• masters the making of a productisation plan, prototype and product manufacturing instructions
• is able to give a professional presentation.
