Objective

Upon completing the course, the student understands the fundamentals of financial management in event production. They are familiar with basic financial calculations related to event production and the principles of budgeting. The student can identify typical revenue and expense categories in event production and perform related financial calculations. They are able to prepare financial settlements for an event and use spreadsheet software effectively.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student understands the principles of budgeting and can create a well-founded budget for a cultural event. They are aware of the statutory requirements for payroll budgeting and can account for value-added tax (VAT) when preparing an event budget. The student can use spreadsheet software as a financial management tool in event production.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student understands the principles of budgeting for event production and can create a budget for a cultural event, using appropriate sources and financial calculations. They are able to perform necessary payroll calculations and account for value-added tax (VAT) when preparing an event budget. The student can evaluate event budget planning and identify its potential risk factors. They can use spreadsheet software effectively as a financial management tool in event production.

The student masters the principles of budgeting for event production. They can create a well-founded and practical budget for a cultural event, using appropriate sources and financial calculations. The student is able to perform payroll calculations for an event and account for value-added tax (VAT) when preparing the budget. They can evaluate event budget planning, identifying and considering potential risk factors when drafting and assessing the budget. The student can use spreadsheet software fluently as a financial management tool in event production and can apply its features appropriately and effectively.
