Objective

After completing the course, the student understands the significance of Finnish cultural policy and recognizes its historical development. They comprehend current cultural policy guidelines and are familiar with various perspectives on cultural policy research. The student applies advocacy and lobbying methods to cultural sector practices.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student understands the role of cultural policy as part of Finnish society. They are familiar with the key developments and historical events of Finnish cultural policy. The student recognizes the fundamental operational environments of the cultural sector. They identify the most important current cultural policy guidelines and can describe their main features. The student is acquainted with some approaches and basic principles of cultural policy research. They understand the fundamental methods of advocacy and lobbying.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student understands the impacts of Finnish cultural policy and can assess its role in different areas of society. They comprehend cultural policy decisions and developments in Finnish history. The student is familiar with the relationships between different operational environments within the cultural sector. They can analyze current cultural policy guidelines and understand various perspectives in cultural policy research. The student is able to apply advocacy and lobbying methods.

The student is able to analyze the impacts of Finnish cultural policy and assess its role in different areas of society.
