Objective

The student will carry out a planned by him/her and approved by Conservation Degree Program project as an integral part of his/her final thesis.

In this practical work related to the final thesis the student will utilizes her/his previously acquired skills, applies his/her know-how, skills, and theoretical knowledge.

The student will be able to reflect on his/her learning, report, cooperate with his/her customer, work with minimum supervision and manage the project.

Competencies: skills, related to working with literature, innovative thinking, documentation skills, practical conservation-restoration skills, material analysis skills, interpretation skills of material analysis results, teamwork skills, internationality and multiculturality skills.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The capacity to formulate and understand relevant problems associated with the work is limited and therefore the problem solving and ability to apply theoretical information to a practical work need to be improved.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The project work proceed coherently. The student is able to understand the basic motifs and challenges of the project and is able to apply theoretical studies and acquired skills to a practical work. The student understands the significance and causality of the work for his/her field of study.
The student works fairly independently but there is need for teacher’s further guidance. The student masters the complex of his/her work and has achieved a good level at her/his skills and knowledge.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The studies proceed coherently. The student is able to understand the basic motifs and challenges of the project and is able to apply theoretical studies and acquired skills to a practical work. The student understands the significance and causality of the work for his/her field of study. The course objectives have been achieved in a competent manner. The student masters the subject area and has achieved excellent level of knowledge and skills. The student is able to work independently. The student shows excellent theoretical and practical knowledge and is able to apply her/his knowledge following the established procedure of his/her field.

The capacity to formulate and understand relevant problems associated with the work is limited and therefore the problem solving and ability to apply theoretical information to a practical work need to be improved.

Further information

The project is an integral part of the final thesis.

The weekly working hours of a student is 1,5 cr, which is equivalent to 40 hours of studies and independent work. 40 hours is formed from approx. 20- 22 hours of contact studies with a lecturer. The remaining hours are dedicated for independent literature survey or independent practical work. 1 credit (cr) is equivalent to 26 study / practical work hours (h).
