Practice Workshop: DocumentaryLaajuus (10 cr)

Objective

Students can conceptualise and script documentary and non-scripted content for different audiences.They can design a production process and production plan based on the script. They can apply script writing principles to content production in a professional manner. The student can produce, edit and publish documentary and non-scripted content for different media and platforms. The student understands the principles of distribution and marketing. The student knows the audiovisual and expressive realisation of a documentary project. The student understands the principles of sustainable development in the documentary process.

- designing, conceptualising and scripting a documentary project
- planning and implementation of audiovisual expression in the documentary process
- methods of documentary expression
- technical design and implementation of documentary narration
- documentary production process management
- distribution and marketing of documentary and non-scripted content

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student participates satisfactorily in class. Students have satisfactory skills in conceptualising and scripting documentary and non-scripted content. The student is able to develop a production plan based on the script under supervision. Students can identify different platforms for the publication of documentary and non-scripted content. The student is able to carry out a simple documentary audiovisual project. The student knows the principles of sustainable development in documentary production.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student participates well in class. The student is able to conceptualise and script documentary and non-scripted content well. The student can independently produce a production plan based on a script. The student is familiar with the different platforms for publishing documentary and non-scripted content. The student is able to realise a documentary audiovisual project. The student knows well the principles of sustainable development in documentary production.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student participates in class with a high level of achievement. The student is fluent in conceptualising and scripting documentary and non-scripted content. The student is able to develop a production plan based on the script in a goal-oriented way. The student has a good knowledge of the different platforms for publishing documentary and non-scripted content. The student is able to implement a documentary audiovisual project in a versatile way. The student masters the principles of sustainable development in documentary production.
