Objective

Objectives:
The radiography student
understands the physical and technical basics of ultrasound imaging and mammography examinations
is able to perform a mammography examination in a patient-oriented way
takes factors related to image quality and radiation exposure into consideration in mammography examinations
understands the general radiation protection principles in mammography examinations to ensure the radiographer’s and the patient’s safety
can evaluate image quality in accordance with good image criteria
is able to carry out the necessary preparations for ultrasound and mammography examinations
can apply their knowledge base in asepsis and prepare a sterile table for a procedure
knows the principles of social sustainability in the clinical pathway of a breast cancer patient
can guide the patient in mammography and ultrasound examinations, taking individual needs and diversity into consideration
can support the patient when taking samples
knows the basic anatomy and physiology of the mammary gland
knows the clinical pathway of a breast cancer patient and understands the importance of early diagnostics
knows the principles of safe sampling
knows the principles of handling laboratory samples
recognises the organs in the abdominal region using ultrasound
