Objective

Student can explain the structure of the joints of the spine, thorax and pelvis and analyse the meaning of the structure to the joint functions.
They can name the muscles of the body and neck and describe their location and funtion. Student explains innervation of these muscles. He knows how to use professional terminology. Students are able to observe the position of the body and posture as well as document the findings obtained by observation. Students know how to define observation as part of diagnostics. Student recognises different body types.

Content

Joints of spine. Joints of thorax. Joints of pelvis. Deep back muscles, abdominal muscles, neck muscles, respiratory muscles, pelvic muscles and their function. Basics of segmental innervation of body muscles. Professional terminology. Theory of posture and observation of different postures. Weight bearing. Body types. Course includes 1 cr of practice
