Objective

Student
- understands the different phases of an EMS mission
- understands the occupational- and patient safety issues of an EMS mission
- develops his knowledge in mission- and conveyance code systems
- develops his knowledge in the use of terrestrial trunk radio system and communication skills in EMS missions
- develops his knowledge in the use of EMS patient charting systems and patient reporting
- is able to use the relevant equipment used in EMS missions
- is able to demonstrate the principles of ECG interpretation
- is able to demonstrate the primary assessment of an EMS patient, and develops his skills in the secondary assessment
- is able to provide prehospital care to all the typical patient groups encountered in the prehospital environment
- develops his skills in patient guidance and the decision of non-conveyance
- is able to recognize all the relevant equipment of an ambulance, and is able to provide them with relevant checking and maintenance procedures
- understands the procedures required from the driver of the ambulance and his pair while driving the ambulance, and understands the safe positioning of the ambulance on various EMS missions
- is able to demonstrate suitable and safe techniques to move the patient during EMS missions
