Objective
The student:
- knows the prehospital patient care process
- understands occupational and patient safety in the prehospital environment
- develops his skills in incident management
- is able to perform and communicate as a part of a prehospital team
- is able to demonstrate systematic patient assessment
- develops his knowledge on the prehospital patient needs assessment
- knows the ALS level prehospital care of typical patient groups
- is able to assess the needs to consult medical control and is able to propose a relevant plan of action for patient care
- is able to assess the need for emergent care and can guide the patient in the use of regional emergency care services
- develops his knowledge in choosing the right transport facility for the patient
- is able to safely conduct a non-transport decision
- is able to contact a relevant agency in the social and healthcare sector to organize a suitable help for the patient according to his assessment
- is able to deliver a report on the prehospital care phase in different situations
- develops his skills in using ALS level drugs
- develops his airway management skills
- knows how to start CPAP treatment
- knows how to use a monitor-defibrillator in transcutaneous pacing and synchronized cardioversion
- is able to interpret different arrhythmias and ischemic changes from a 12 lead ECG
Content
- ALS clinical practice 7,5 credits
- 2,5 credits of lab sessions and/or simulation studies
Qualifications
A minimum of 70 credits of clinical nursing studies.
BLS and ALS competence.
The student and tutor teacher go through other recommended studies in the HOPS discussions.
