Objective

The student is familiar with the different types of air emissions from energy production, industry and transport. The student knows emission control methods and the principles of operation of measuring instruments in industry and energy production. The student understands the legislation and regulations governing air protection.

Prerequisites

The student masters the basics of fluid mechanics and knows the most common equations related to fluid flow. The student understands the basics of thermodynamics.

The student is able to apply the concepts and phenomena related to the air pollution engineering. The student knows the main air emissions, their sources and effects. The student knows and can describe the principles of operation of measuring instruments and emission reduction techniques. The student will understand the legislation regulating emissions and the various means of controlling emissions.

The student knows air emissions, their sources and health impacts, as well as their effects on ecosystems. The student knows and can describe the principles of operation and applications of measuring instruments and emission reduction technologies. The student knows the legislation regulating air emissions and can apply different control measures to reduce emissions.
