Student

- understands the significance of illness and the care environment for children, young people and their families
- can identify changes in a child's and young person’s condition and assess related care needs, examinations, treatments and follow-ups
- identifies and understands child and youth mental health challenges and related psychological symptoms and behavioural changes
- can apply their knowledge in implementing care for children and young people with developmental disabilities
- can plan, implement and evaluate care and guidance for children, young people and families with illnesses
- is proficient in the medication process and its specific features in the care of children and young people.

Status and rights of a child, principles governing childcare
Growth and development of children
The most common developmental disabilities and how to care for them
Acute and long-term illnesses of children and young people, their treatment and guidance
Child and youth mental health challenges and their treatment
Identification of child and youth abuse and its risk factors
Assessing the care needs of children and adolescents and their families
Planning, implementation and evaluation of pain management, nutrition and hydration for children and young people of different ages
Specific aspects of drug therapy for children and young people
Qualifications
Medical Nursing Competence. Basic knowledge of Pharmacotherapy.
