The student
• understands the basic laws and most common applications of electrical engineering
• knows the importance of electromagnetic induction and its main applications in engineering
• knows the most common types of electric motors, generators and transformers.

The student
• is familiar with the key concepts of electric current and its behaviour in electric circuits, as well as with some most common applications of them
• is aware of the dangers of electricity
• knows the basic of electromagnetic induction, and knows how to solve simple problems related to them.

The student
• can analyse simple circuits
• understands the basic operating principles of electric machines and transformers, and can perform simple sizing calculations.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
The student
• understands the basic concepts of AC circuits and can apply the knowledge to real-life cases
• can design simple electric power systems.
