Objective
Upon completion of the course, students will understand the principles of how the Internet of Things works. They will know the history of IoT technology, key concepts and principles of operation. In addition, students will be familiar with IoT technology and be able to apply their skills in practice.

• Requirements, functionalists and structures of IoT
• IoT enabled technologies and IoT architecture
• Hardware and software components of IoT
• Networking and communication protocols of IoT
• IoT services and applications
• Introduction to IoT standards and security practices
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
The student
• has achieved the objectives of the course to a satisfactory level
• is able to identify, define and use concepts and models in the subject area of the course
• understands the conditions and principles of the development of expertise
• has completed the learning tasks required for the course to the minimum standard
• has developed their competences in such a way that they will be able to complete their future professional studies and eventually work in the field.
