Objective

The course deepens and develops further students' skills in application development project work. The students will be able to work professionally in a team, work on client projects, and focus on research-based design.

Content

The areas in which students could explore during the project work:
- User-oriented design
- User experience
- Accessibility
- Gamification
- Cooperating with a customer
- Further development of 3D modelling skills
- Further development of game engine skills
- Conceptualization and presentation of an idea
- Design and implementation of a XR environment and service

Qualifications

The students must have completed the course Project course 1.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student is familiar with the basics of user-oriented design. Recognizes the importance of a research approach in the design of services. Understands the importance of design documentation and can outline the processes of designing XR applications. Understands the benefits of using prototypes in design process and application development.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Masters the basics of user-oriented design and applies them in project work. Uses a research-oriented approach to ensure the quality of design work. Produces design documentation and communicates the material to the team and the client. Uses prototypes as part of the design process and application development.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Masters and creatively applies the basics and techniques of user-oriented design. Uses a professional and creative research-oriented approach to ensure the quality of design work. Applies documentation methods and deeply understands the importance of documentation in design. Understands the processes involved in the design of services and shapes them creatively and need based. Utilizes prototypes creatively as part of design process and application development.
