The student

• knows the structural and social geography of urban environments for children and families with children
• can identify the needs of the city's diverse regions and communities
• identifies the needs of children and families with children, particularly in terms of culture, language, religion, sexual orientation and gender diversity
• explores the changing nature of childhood, children's culture and play in an urban environment
• develops their professional role as an advocate for sustainable urban living.
