Objective

The student understands the principles of physical-chemical processing and refining of renewable raw materials and products in line with sustainable development values, modern equipment solutions, and selected process sizing methods. The student masters the practical aspects of sustainable production operation and the natural scientific and technical phenomena required for handling test results at a practical level.

Content

The course covers the following physicochemical production processes and their application possibilities:

Processing of ecological renewable raw materials
Product development and manufacturing in line with sustainable development values
Implementation of energy-efficient production

In addition, the following unit processes are practically learned in both the course and the parallel laboratory work course:

Distillation
Absorption
Extraction

Furthermore, the course addresses the following:

Modeling of physicochemical phenomena
Use of process simulators in the design of sustainable production

Prerequisites

Properties and Phenomena of Materials
Ecological Management of Material and Energy Balances
