Objective

The student understands amputations of the foot and upper limb, the reasons for them and the technical prosthetic solutions related to them. They understand what the client functional capacity and activity classification means for the user of the prosthesis and can apply this knowledge when manufacturing the prosthetic solution. The student can justify the need for a prosthetic or orthotic solution from the user’s perspective and explain its impact on the user’s functional capacity. They are able to plan and manufacture a prosthetic solution using traditional methods with adaptation. The student applies and develops their prior learning in the technical manufacturing of prostheses. The student is able to collaborate with others. They are able to evaluate the client’s functional capacity and the usability of a prosthesis and to guide the client in the use of a prosthesis. They are able to consider and follow environmentally sustainable methods and ways of working in the prosthesis manufacturing process.
