Research in ConservationLaajuus (5 cr)

Objective

The student will gain an overview on the latest material research, innovations and methods in her/his own special field of conservation. The student examines the current R&D in her/his own field of conservation and evaluates the applicability of the methods for conservation of different materials and objects in her/his own work. The student is able to critically evaluate and comment in written the studied R&D materials from the point of view of his/her own special field of conservation.

The student recognizes the latest trends, discussion and research in the field of conservation. The student knows the current discussion in her/his own special field of conservation and is able to follow the international debate concerning it. The student understands on a basic level the applicability of the latest scientific research for his/her own work. The student knows the basics of relevant terminology and methodology.

The student knows the current discussion in her/his own special field of conservation and is able to evaluate, analyze and comment the international debate and scientific research from the point of view of his/her own work. The student is able to apply the latest scientific research for his/her own work.
