Objective

Students outline the changing operating environments of organisations and are able to apply strategic management to navigate them. Students are familiar with the main principles of the EFQM quality management system and are able to apply them in their work communities/organisations. Students are familiar with the basic principles of comprehensive marketing management and financial management.

Content

Organizational operating environments and strategic management as the basis of organizational operations. EFQM quality management system as a tool for organizational development and quality assurance. Marketing management of the welfare service offerings. Basics of economics and financial administration

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Management and development in the field of social services:
• masters the principles of strategic and operative management and knows how to apply them to management in practice
• is familiar with management systems, understands their meaning and knows how to apply them to work community/organisation
• develops services and the activities of work communities by participatory actions.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Management and development in the field of social services:
• masters the principles of strategic and operative management and knows how to apply them to practice flexibly in managerial duties
• is familiar with management systems and knows how to apply them to versatile work communities, organisations and networks
• develops and manages services and service units ethically enabling their participation.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Management and development in the field of social services:
• masters the principles of strategic and operative management and knows how to apply them to practice flexibly in demanding and complex managerial situations
• is familiar with management systems and knows how to apply them to versatile work communities, organisations and networks
• develops and manages services and service units ethically and in a socially sustainable manner as well as can lead the activities of work communities in an inspiring and renewing manner.
