Descriptions

The aim of the studies leading to a master's degree is to provide students with broad and in-depth expertise in the development of their field and the ability to work in demanding expert and management positions. During their studies, students will gain a comprehensive understanding of their professional field and its role in working life and society. They will also develop their ability to follow and analyse the development of research and practices in the field. The aim is to promote lifelong learning and continuous professional development. In addition, students will be provided with good communication and language skills to support their professional field-related tasks and international cooperation.

The Master’s Degree Programme in Nursing Development and Management prepares students for a wide range of environments in the social and health care sector. It produces nursing developers, leaders and experts who are ready to transform the world of work. Proactive, responsible, sustainable and ethical practices are at the heart of the studies.

The curriculum has been developed with a focus on working life. The curriculum has been presented to the Advisory Board on Working Life.

Objective

The skills and knowledge of students graduated from Metropolia University of Applied Sciences are described according to the NQF, National Qualifications Framework, and the recommendations of the Rectors' Conference of Finnish Universities of Applied Sciences.

Learning competence
