Theme Analysis and Planning the Master’s ThesisLaajuus (5 cr)

Objective

Upon completion of the course, the students know how to

• critically and effectively apply research and expert knowledge in their field, as well as research and development methods to meet the development needs of work life and to solve problems
• take initiative in their action and show expertise in their development and change management skills.

Content

- selecting the topic of the final thesis and justifying it based on the development need in working life of the field and the appropriately chosen research strategies
- setting up the research plan
- Permission to conduct research and the thesis contract

- Objectives of the thesis
- Knowledge base of the thesis
- Selected methods and implementing the thesis

- The whole process as a whole, taking responsibility for one's own process
- Reliability and ethics of the thesis
- Communication, language and layout of the thesis report
