Advanced Research Methods and Project Management ToolsLaajuus (5 cr)

Objective

The purpose of the course is to deepen the student's research and development skills and prepare the student to plan, execute and assess research and development projects by using different types of methodological approaches. The student is able to analyse approaches to change and project management methods and techniques.

The student

• is capable of planning research and development projects choosing appropriate research methods
• has deep insights in the science philosophical grounds of the selected methodological approaches and respective methods

• Refreshing parametric and non-parametric basic methods
• Meaning of confidence intervals
• Covariance analysis
• Cronbach alpha coefficient in testing construct reliability
• Regression
• Data analysis and interpretation

The student is able to design and evaluate a project in a sustainable way.
The student can participate and lead a project team with collaborative skills that are accountable, ethical and inclusive, supported by other team members.
The student is capable of planning research and development projects using selected methodological approach.
The student has insight into the science philosophical grounds of the selected methodological approaches and respective research and development methods.
The student is able to present the outcomes of her/his research in a relevant manner for the methodological approach.
The student is able to analyse quantitative and qualitative data in a simple manner.
