The student - communicates in some situations in everyday life - recognizes the topics in a conversation, easy general speech and text concerning everyday life - has the ability to guess the meaning of some unfamiliar words in a text or in a conversation in a clear context - writes short and simple texts on familiar and everyday topics - knows some common vocabulary (e.g. running errands, traditions and holidays, and education and work) - knows some common structures (e.g. verb tenses, plural nouns and some other noun structures, and different sentence types)

In addition to the lower grade requirements, the student - communicates in some official settings - writes short texts on familiar and everyday topics with little errors - uses some common vocabulary and structures

In addition to the lower grade requirements, the student - recognizes some details in short texts and communicative situations concerning everyday life - communicates in everyday life and in some work-related communicative situations - uses the most common cohesive devices

Teaching methods

The student will strengthen and expand their basic skills in Finnish language at the level A2. The student can communicate with simple sentences in everyday life and some professional communicative situations. They understand general speech and recognize the topics in a conversation. They have learnt to guess the meaning of unfamiliar words and categories of words. The student is able to write short texts on familiar and everyday topics with the most common vocabulary and structures.
