Location and time

The learning work is done independently but not alone, the learners are given help and feedback is received from them. The learning environment is Learn, and other platforms can be used to support your own learning, such as Miro, Mural, Canva, Google Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, and ChatGPT. You should also search for information in HAMK Finna's data search service, and you should also use the Statista service through HAMK Finna.

Materials

The course starts in August 2025 and continues until July of 2026. The course is fully online and students can plan their own schedule.Grading will be done once each period

Competence is evaluated in relation to competence goals as evidence of competence acquired in project work.

As a student, you understand, can explain, and apply the key concepts of business idea development and sustainable business in learning tasks. The learning tasks are clear entities, and any external sources are partially correctly referenced. Artificial intelligence has been used in the work according to the course guidelines, but the references to it are incomplete, making the student's own analysis and the AI-generated content unclear in the tasks.

As a student, you understand, can explain, and apply the key concepts of business idea development and sustainable business in learning tasks. In the tasks, you have applied theory to a practical project based on your own analysis. You can evaluate different options, and your analysis is justified. The learning tasks are clear entities, and any external sources are correctly referenced. Artificial intelligence has been used in the work according to the course guidelines, and the references to it are mostly correct.

As a student, you understand, can explain, and apply the key concepts of business idea development and sustainable business in learning tasks. In the tasks, you have applied theory to a practical project based on your own analysis. Through the combination of analysis and sources, you can justifiably create new sustainable business experiments and business models. You can evaluate different options, and the justifications for your choices are clearly visible in the tasks. The learning tasks are clear entities, and any external sources are correctly referenced. Artificial intelligence has been used in the work according to the course guidelines, and the references to it are correct.

Teaching methods

Learning and developing a business idea proceeds in stages. For this course, the whole is divided into seven stages. The stages are 1. get familiar with the concepts, 2. create and present a business idea, 3. Find and structure a business opportunity, 4. develop a service product, business model and marketing plan from the idea, 5. Try the solution, 6. Finalize the business plan and 7. Finalize the learning report. Business design worksheets are used as learning tools, prototypes, experiments are created and the business design is finalized based on the feedback received.
