Learning outcomes
The student is familiar with the most typical instruments used in popular music, their characteristics and roles, and knows how to write music for them. The student understands the role of an arranger in the creative process and is acquainted with copyright and financial matters associated with arranging. The student familiarizes themselves with arranging and orchestrating for various band and ensemble line-ups. The student is able to make analytical observations about arrangements and orchestrations and can apply the findings in their own work. The student knows how to prepare a musical score and parts and a demo recording out of their own arrangements and orchestrations.

Completion of the Fundamentals of Music for Professional Musician 1 and 2 courses or equivalent skills and knowledge.

- Completing and submitting the given exercises and assignments according to the agreed schedule
- Writing at least one new arrangement for a studio ensemble (including a musical score and a demo recording).
