Objective

The student
• is familiar with the basic software needed in engineering, and know the basics of programming
• is able to use suitable software to solve mathematical, physical and technical issues
• knows basics functions and structures of a programming language.

Content

Usage of useful software in the degree programme:
• Handling of measurement data and mathematical modelling
• Visualisation of information, pictures and spreadsheets

Introduction to programming: syntax, variables, programs, subroutines, conditions, loops, testing

The student understands the basics of the software used in the course and the basic ideas of programming.

The student is able to use the software covered in the course independently and in a variety of ways.
