Objective

The student
• understands the chemical and microbiological quality requirements for drinking water, swimming water, and natural water, as well as the regulations that ensure their safety
• learns the key parameters analysed in each water type, the methods used for analysis, and how to interpret results in relation to quality standards
• gains practical skills in proper water sampling techniques and laboratory analyses, using both traditional and modern methods
• understands the importance of quality control in water testing and the role of water safety monitoring in public health.

Content

• Quality standards for household water and assessment of swimming and natural water quality
• Water sampling and chemical and microbiological analysis using standard and modern analytical methods

Evaluation scale

0-5

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student
• demonstrates basic knowledge of chemical and microbiological quality requirements for drinking water, bathing water and natural waters
• has limited knowledge of regulations but can identify some key parameters and methods of water analysis
• may need guidance in interpreting results and applying water quality standards.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student
• understands the chemical and microbiological quality requirements for drinking, swimming and natural water and has a clear understanding of the key parameters and their significance
• demonstrates a good understanding of water safety and quality regulations
• can correctly perform water analysis, interpret analytical results, and apply them to water quality standards.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student:
• demonstrates a strong understanding of the chemical and microbiological quality requirements of water
• has an excellent command of analytical methods used in water analysis and performs laboratory analyses with high precision and reliability using modern techniques
• can accurately interpret analytical results, assess their reliability, and compare them to water quality standards
• shows exceptional comprehension and practical ability in both theoretical and applied aspects of water quality assessment
• can effectively report results and prepare high-quality analysis certificates.
