Objective

On completion of the course the student will have an overall understanding of the water and sewage systems in buildings and their connections with other building service systems. The student understands how the system is connected to the communal water supply and sewage network.
The student can describe the principles of water supply and sewage solutions for areas of dispersed development.
The student can apply the relevant rules and regulations.
After completing this course, the student has the skills to draw up water and sewer system plans for a conventional site, as well as the basic skills in terms of system knowledge to act as a foreman of water and sewerage works.

The municipal water supply system
Rules and regulations as a basis for the planning, implementation and usage of water and sewage systems
The water supply systems of a property, the energy consumption of a water supply system and water consumption
The water and sewage fittings of a property
The rain water system of a property
Protecting the water supply and sewage network
Sound engineering in water and sewage systems
Waste water pumping stations
Solutions for providing hot water
Systems used to alter the water pipe pressure of a property
