Objective

On completion of the course the student can create a project plan and knows how to manage a project.
The student can cooperate with professionals from different fields and has good networking skills.
The student can communicate appropriately with different stakeholders and develops cooperation skills.
The student can carry out a small project related to HVAC technology.

Content

Project skills together with students, teachers, working life and clients. The principles of project work:planning, scheduling, communication. Working in a project together with other students, teachers, professionals and clients

Cooperation skills and working with stakeholders
Creative problem solving, the creative process.

Students will work in groups of three to five members to solve problems related to HVAC engineering in the client's buildings.
Students will acquire the theoretical background knowledge required for solving the problem by reading research literature and other information sources.
The groups are responsible for carrying out the project, including planning, communication, actual implementation and oral and written reporting.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student can explain how to manage a project and how different tasks relate to each other.
The student can describe his or her share of work in the group and cooperate with others.
The student can plan the use of resources related to his or her task and complete it on time.
The student can describe the group's work and results in a project meeting.
The student knows how to communicate with the client, other professionals and non-professionals in an appropriate and professional manner.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

In addition to the requirements listed above:
The student can produce a project plan for the group.
The student can work with the group and be flexible when needed.
The student can explain the quality assurance measures used in the group.
The student can present the plans and results to a larger audience both orally and in writing.
The student knows how to cooperate and build networks with other students and how to communicate appropriately with different stakeholders.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

In addition to the requirements listed above:
The student can plan a project which includes several tasks and groups.
The student can organise the work of several groups and take care of allocating resources between the groups.
The student can explain the quality assurance measures for the whole project.
