Assessment methods and criteria
In the written transcription tasks using IPA symbols, the student's ability to perceive phonetic phenomena from the perspective of the English language and their mastery of the IPA symbol system are assessed. The student must be able to distinguish different vowel qualities and accurately notate consonant sounds. In the oral tasks, the student's ability to produce English sounds is particularly evaluated.
