Learning outcomes

After completing the course, the student will be able to
- apply multidisciplinary gerontological knowledge and understanding of the diversity of ageing in working life and in the development of client-oriented services
- analyse the changing and diverse image and concept of ageing from the perspectives of quality of life and inclusion, promotion of functional capacity, and agency of older people
- assess the effectiveness and quality of preventive services in promoting the health and well-being of older people
- use research knowledge and expertise, co-development and cooperative networks, and evidence-based knowledge in the development of services for older people

Students can:
- define the key concepts, theories and models of gerontological knowledge
- describe the diversity of ageing and the concept of old age from the perspectives of quality of life and inclusion of older people, and promotion of functional capacity and agency
- examine the effectiveness and quality of services on the basis of gerontological research knowledge

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Students are able to:
- apply the key concepts and models of gerontological knowledge in their work
- analyse the diversity of ageing and the concept of old age from the perspectives of quality of life and inclusion of older people, and promotion of functional capacity and agency
- assess the effectiveness and quality of services on the basis of gerontological research knowledge

The student is able to:
- critically assess the key concepts and models of gerontological knowledge in their work
- critically assess the diversity of ageing and the concept of old age from the perspectives of quality of life and inclusion of older people, and promotion of functional capacity and agency
- critically assess the effectiveness and quality of services on the basis of gerontological research knowledge
