Objective
The student is able to search for and use property information from different sources. The student knows the effects of the transfer of parcels on the real estate system. The student is able to draw up a deed of conveyance of real estate.
Content
Basic concepts of building systems, history of land ownership and land systems in Finland, Land Information System (KTJ), rights and obligations related to property ownership, possibilities of using real estate, procedure in cadastral surveying, basics of real estate valuation, real estate transactions. The course emphasizes retrieving information about real estate from different data sources.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
The student is able to name the parts of the real estate information system, describe the key concepts related to real estate in general terms, find information concerning real estate from different sources and is able to draw up a simple deed of sale of real estate.
Assessment criteria, good (3)
The student has a thorough knowledge of the real estate information system and its information, is able to describe the most important real estate valuation methods and draw up a deed of sale of real estate.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
The student is able to explain the concepts of real estate dimensions. Is able to make a deed of sale and simple property valuations. Knows the effects of property information and zoning on land use.
