Objective
After serving at least one term as a chairperson of the Metropolia University of Applied Sciences Student Union METKA, a student can:
• set goals for their activities and manage their own time
• assess the strengths and areas for development of their activities and skills
• describe the administrative framework of their activities
• managing dialogue on an individual level and addressing a larger audience, being able to articulate objectives
• distribute tasks effectively within a team and delegate responsibly using digital tools
• anticipate and respond to changing situations
• act as an accountable leader and manage the organisation effectively, including in challenging interaction situations
• support, encourage and motivate to achieve objectives
• interact constructively with stakeholders

Assessment criteria, approved/failed
• The student has served as a chairperson of Metropolia’s student union for at least one term (Board or Representative Council)
• The student has been actively involved in the activities of the student union, marketing its activities and in recruiting new members.
• Documentation of activities: the student keeps a diary of their activities as a Chairperson of the Board of the Student Union/Council and of their time spent on Board activities. In the diary, the student marks the hours spent on the activities with a short description of how the hours were spent. The diary and the report of the hours are returned to the Student Union METKA, which will award/reject the credits. The credits are awarded according to the reported time spent on the activity (1 credit = 27 hours).
