Student Union Activities (5 cr)

Objective

After serving at least one term on the board of METKA, the student union of Metropolia University of Applied Sciences, the student:
• Understands the Finnish University of Applied Sciences Act and its implications for student union operations.
• Is proficient in meeting practices and comprehends the governance regulations for statutory meetings of the student union.
• Can market and promote the benefits and activities of the student union.
• Understands the basics of accounting and activity reporting within the student union.
• Has participated in the production and promotion of student events.
• Has contributed to collaboration between the student union, Metropolia, and student associations.
• Is capable of serving on the board of a public legal entity and understands the organizational model of the student union.

Evaluation scale

0-5

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

• The student has served on the board of the Metropolia student union for at least one term.
• The student has actively participated in student union activities, including marketing its activities and recruiting new members.
• The student has been actively involved in their assigned responsibilities on the board and supported other board members when necessary.

Qualifications

The student has participated in METKA’s training sessions for student union officials.
