Objective

Microsoft 365 is a line of subscription services offered by Microsoft which adds to and includes the Microsoft Office product line. Office 365 contains the same core applications as traditional versions of Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Microsoft Excel 365 is a full-featured spreadsheet program that helps you quickly and efficiently develop dynamic, professional workbooks to summarize and present your data.

In this Excel 365 Basics course, students will create and edit basic worksheets and workbooks.

This course is designed for students who want to gain the necessary skills to create, edit, format, and print basic Microsoft Excel 365 worksheets.

- Performing calculations on data
- Changing workbook appearance
- Focusing on specific data by using filters
- Reordering and summarizing data
- Combining data from multiple sources
- Analyzing data and alternative data sets

Course can be done in own pace in Metropolia's Moodle environment.

Materials

Theory Using the course material in Moodle get acquainted with the topic. Perform the exercises.

Exercises The laboratory exercises are performed using Excel 365 or Excel 2021. The exercises can also be done using older Excel versions.

Theory The theory is studied at own pace using training material in Metropolia Moodle. In addition other training material is available for download in the work space.

Laboratory exercises The course exercises are performed using the student´s own computer. The workbook files used in the exercises are downloaded from Metropolia Moodle.

Final test The final exam must be done remotely.

Qualifications

This course is intended for students who have little or no familiarity with Microsoft Excel or more experienced Excel users who want to learn the topics covered in this course in the Excel 365 interface.
