Objective
The student knows how to set up a company and develop its business idea and business plan. The student knows how to plan the company's financing and evaluate it from the point of view of profitability. The student knows different business forms and knows how to choose the most suitable one for their own business. The student knows key taxation and insurance practices as well as the company's key statutory duties and knows how to take them into account in their own business operations. The student knows the basics of customer strategy and customer acquisition. The student knows the basics of marketing and sales and knows how to use them in the marketing plan of his own business idea. The student knows how to pitch his own business idea.

The student is familiar with different business structures and understands their differences. The student is familiar with key taxation and insurance practices, as well as the essential statutory duties of a company.

The student is capable of establishing a company and developing its business idea and business plan. The student can plan the company’s financing and evaluate it from the perspective of profitability. The student is familiar with various business structures and can choose the most suitable one for their own company. The student is familiar with key taxation and insurance practices, as well as the company’s essential statutory duties, and is able to take them into account in their business operations.

The student is capable of establishing a company and developing its business idea and business plan at a high level. The student can plan the company’s profitable financing and evaluate it from the perspective of profitability. The student has a deep understanding of various business structures and can select the most suitable one for their own company. The student is proficient in key taxation and insurance practices, as well as the company’s essential statutory duties, and is able to effectively incorporate them into their business operations.
Assessment methods and criteria
Grade 5: The student is proficient in establishing a company and advancing its business idea and business plan at a high level. They are capable of designing effective financial strategies for the company and evaluating them from the perspective of profitability. The student has an in-depth understanding of various business forms and can select the most suitable one for their enterprise. They are well-versed in key taxation and insurance practices as well as the essential statutory obligations of a business, and they can effectively integrate these considerations into their entrepreneurial activities to achieve successful outcomes.
Grades 3-4: The student is capable of establishing a business and developing its business idea and plan. They can design the company’s financial structure and evaluate it from a profitability perspective. The student is familiar with various business forms and can choose the most suitable one for their enterprise. They have knowledge of key taxation and insurance practices as well as the main statutory obligations of a business and can take these into account in their entrepreneurial activities.
Grades 1-2: The student has knowledge of business establishment and understands the importance of a business idea and business plan. They are familiar with financing and profitability. The student understands different business forms and their distinctions. They also have knowledge of key taxation and insurance practices as well as the main statutory obligations of a business.
Qualifications
The course is designed for Metropolia's Master's level (YAMK) students and corresponds to EQF level 7 studies. Compared to Bachelor's level (AMK) students, Master's students (YAMK) complete more supplementary and advanced tasks during the course.
