Objective
The student
• is able to recognise and analyse functional, structural, aesthetic and qualitative demands of the furniture
• is able to design furniture solutions that meet the requirements of usability and spatial design as a whole
• is able to apply generally used construction and material options in their designs
• is able to apply the principles of ergonomics and user-centred design into design work
• is able to take into account the aspects of production and practical execution, and make technical drawings of their designs by using CAD software.
Content
• Built-in furniture: special features and requirements
• Principles of built-in furniture design: architecture and interior space design, functionality, materials and structures, quality and durability, proportions, requirements of public spaces, user-centred design and ergonomics
• Design process: definition and evaluation of objectives, taking advantage of user information, creation, sketching, scale model, technical drawings
• Documentation and presentations
