Objective

This course aims to provide a basics to one of the most challenging areas in business - operations management. Operations management focuses on the systematic planning, design, and operation of the processes which deliver goods and services.

The target of the course is to support students with the decisions made in the management of operations. Secondly course also helps to understand real-life operational issues. The course also helps to analyze the basics of a quantitative techniques of operations management which can be used to support the management function in such environments.

The content of the course covers the main value-added and supporting activities of an organization including forecasting, product and process design, capacity and location decisions, quality management, inventory management, materials requirement planning and operational scheduling.
