Objective
Upon completion the students will know how to operate a digital camera and are able to choose appropriate camera settings according to circumstances. The students will know how to operate the camera manually and how to manipulate the exposure.
They will master the raw format shooting and understands the advantages of 16/24-bit image files. The students will be able to evaluate their pictures and know the finishing techniques in terms of colours and shades. Optimizing digital images to prints and for the Internet are also included.

- Basics of digital photography; basics of photography techniques tailored according to each study programme

- Basics of image manipulation from the photographer's point of view

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
The student knows the operation of a digital camera and is able to choose suitable camera settings according to the conditions. The student controls the camera manually and is able to manipulate the exposure. He masters raw format imaging and understands the benefits of a 16/24 bit image file. The student is able to evaluate his / her pictures and is able to post-process them if necessary, e.g. color and tone corrections; can optimize the image for grid and output.

The student knows the concepts and basics of photography. He is familiar with photography tools and techniques.
