Location and time

The course is conducted in the online learning environment Moodle and is available from April 2 to May 12, 2025. The course progresses in stages, and advancing to the next module requires submitting the assignment from the previous module.

Please note that although you can register for the course between February 1st and April 1, 2025, the first module will open in Moodle on April 2, 2025. You can log in to Moodle using the instructions provided upon registration and review the information related to the course. You can start studying on April 2, 2025.

Content scheduling

The course runs from April 2 to May 12, 2025, and consists of three modules. The first two modules are completed independently and are scheduled as follows: Module 1 from April 2 to April 20, 2025, and Module 2 from April 21 to May 4, 2025. The third module takes place from May 7 to May 12, 2025, and includes participation in a small group discussion online.

The methods for demonstrating learning and competence include a presentation, a written assignment, and an interactive discussion. The course does not include any exams.

The deadlines for the learning assignments are as follows:
- The assignment for Module 1 is due by April 20, 2025.
- The assignment for Module 2 is due by May 4, 2025

Further information

This course is the entrance course for the Metropolia Master’s Degree Programme in Rehabilitation Development (YAMK) for the spring 2025 joint application. You must apply for the degree program through the joint application process on Studyinfo. Without an official application, you cannot be admitted to the degree program. Completing the course alone does not entitle you to a study place without the official joint application on Studyinfo. The course can also be completed through the Metropolia Open University of Applied Sciences without applying for the Master´s Degree Programme in Rehabilitation Development (YAMK).

The course is free of charge and is conducted in Metropolia University of Applied Sciences’ online learning environment, Moodle. Detailed instructions for completing the course, materials, assignments, and assessment information can be found in the Moodle. Instructions for joining the Moodle will be sent to the student’s Metropolia email address after registration.

During the course, in Module 3, the participant’s identity will be verified. A passport or a chip-enabled ID card is required for identification. Without the aforementioned identification document, you cannot receive a completion mark for the selection course or be admitted as a degree student.

In the course assignments, sources that are suitable for and/or defined by the course objectives must be utilized, and AI can support your own thinking. However, the text or content of the assignments cannot be generated by AI. If you use AI in an assignment, it must be clearly documented in the assignment by describing which AI program or application was used and how. The student is responsible for the content and ethical implementation of their assignments. If necessary, read more about the use of AI in Metropolia’s AI guidelines.

Students who successfully complete the course will receive a transcripts of records through Metropolia’s Open University of Applied Sciences. This completion can be included as part of the Master’s Degree Programme in Rehabilitation Development (YAMK) studies if desired.

MATERIALS and assignments created by the teacher are protected under the Copyright law (404/61), and the teacher holds the copyright to these creations. Assignments
and materials may not be used other than in your own studies. The
public distribution of these is only allowed with the teacher's permission.

Assessment methods and criteria

The entrance course is graded on a scale of 0-100 points, with a minimum of 50 points required to pass the course. Each module of the selection exam must be completed with at least 50% of the maximum points for the module to be considered successfully completed. The scoring for the modules is as follows; Module 1: 30 points, Module 2: 30 points, and Module 3: 40 points.

All assignments must be submitted by the given deadlines. If any module is not completed, the course will be failed.

Tämä opintojakso on Metropolian Kuntoutuksen kehittäminen YAMK-tutkinnon yhteishaun valintakurssi.Opintojakso on hakijoille maksuton ja se toteutetaan Metropolia Ammattikorkeakoulun verkko-oppimisympäristö Moodlessa. Tarkempi ohjeistus opintojakson suorittamiseen, materiaalit, tehtävät ja arviointiin liittyvät tiedot löytyvät Moodle-työtilasta. Oppimistekoina ja osaamisen osoittamisen tapoina ovat esitys, kirjallinen työ ja vuorovaikutteinen keskustelu. Valintakurssi ei sisällä tenttejä.

Opintojakson hyväksytysti suorittaneet saavat kahden opintopisteen laajuisen suoritusmerkinnän Metropolian avoimen AMK:n kautta. Suorituksen voi halutessaan sisällyttää osaksi Kuntoutuksen kehittäminen YAMK-tutkinnon opintoja.

Tutkintoon on haettava yhteishaussa Opintopolun kautta. Ilman virallista hakemusta ei voi tulla valituksi tutkinto-ohjelmaan. Opintojakson suoritus yksinään ei oikeuta opiskelupaikkaan ilman virallista yhteishakua Opintopolussa. Opintojakson voi myös suorittaa avoimen ammattikorkeakoulun kautta ilman, että hakee opiskelemaan Kuntoutuksen kehittäminen YAMK-tutkintoon.
