Objective

The student
• knows the human proportions and the limits and possibilities of body movements with different tools and materials
• is able to translate their perceptions and impressions of living models and spaces into visual form, using both drawing and colour, thus developing the skills needed for visual representation and ergonomic design
• understands that continuous sketching and the use of images as a tool for thinking and design is part of professional development and identity.

Content

• Observation, study and representation of the anatomy, proportions and movement of the human body using different media and materials
• Visually exploring the human body in relation to space and environment

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student satisfactorily participates in teaching. The student is able to describe three-dimensional shape and space with the help of values and colours, using various drawing and painting materials and techniques satisfactorily. The student is able to satisfactorily create and express their own images visually and later utilise creative pictorial thinking as part of the professional design process. The student understands continuous image making as part of observation, exploration, and thinking.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student actively participates in teaching. The student is able to describe three-dimensional shape and space with the help of values and colors, using various drawing and painting materials and techniques in a variety of ways. The student is able to create and express their own images visually and later utilise creative pictorial thinking as part of the professional design process. The student understands well continuous image making as part of observation, research, and thinking.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student’s participation is excellent. The student is able to describe a wide range of three-dimensional shape and space with the help of values and colors, using various drawing and painting materials and techniques in a variety of ways. The student is able to create and express their own images visually excellently and later utilise creative pictorial thinking as part of the professional design process. The student has an excellent understanding of continuous image making as part of observation, exploration, and thinking.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

The student’s participation is accepted. The student knows the proportions of a person and the functionality of the body. The student is able to transfer their observations and images of a living model and space into a pictorial form. The student is able to apply the skills needed for visual and ergonomic design both by drawing and using colors. The student knows that continuous sketching and using an image as a tool for thinking and planning is part of professional development and identity.
