Objective
After attending tutor training and tutoring at least one group, student will be able to:
- Identify the tutoring needs of a new student and be able to advise the new student on how to proceed if necessary.
- Can guide and support new students in forming groups and social relationships.
- Can organise activities with new students and with other tutors
- Is able to promote equality and equity at Metropolia through their own actions.
- Is familiar with the services and online platforms offered by Metropolia and can advise new students on how to use them.
- Is able to evaluate themself as a tutor.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed
The student has achieved the objectives of the course on a satisfactory level.
Qualifications
? The student has studied at least one semester at Metropolia before participating in the training.
? The student participates in peer tutor training organised by Student Union METKA.
? Tutoring tasks: the tasks include supporting new students in starting their studies, team-building and settling in at Metropolia.
? Documentation of activities and remote assignments: the student will keep a tutor diary during their term. In the diary, the student records the hours spent tutoring and a brief description of the hours spent. In addition, the student will write a tutoring essay (3-5 pages) reflecting on their own actions as a tutor. The written assignments are returned to the student's head tutor, who, after checking them, forwards them to the METKA’s tutoring specialist.
? Feedback discussion: on the basis of the written outputs, the student will have a feedback discussion with the person responsible for the tutoring course in their field of study.
