Objective

Students
- deepen their evidence-based competence in accordance with the key competence areas of nursing: clinical, decision-making, patient education, interaction, ethical, health promotion, and development and leadership competence
- can evaluate their evidence-based development and assume responsibility for the quality of nursing in their own actions
- are prepared for future-oriented and patient/client-oriented development of nursing
- deepen their competence in planning, implementing, evaluating and developing nursing of patients in emergency care, high dependency units, intensive care units and perioperative units of different operating environments
- deepen their competence in supporting and giving guidance to patients and their significant others in different phases of the clinical pathway

Opintojakso alkaa pakollisella orientaatiolla etänä viikolla 32. Osallistuminen orientaatioihin on edellytys opintojakson suorittamiselle. Opintojakso päättyy viikolla 40. Opintojakso on aikataulutettu opintojen etenemisen suhteen ja vaatii opiskelijalta vahvaa sitoutumista sekä itsenäistä työotetta.

Opiskelija vahvistaa osallistumisensa opintoihin olemalla läsnä opintojakson orientaatiotunnilla (vrt. Tutkintosääntö). Mikäli opiskelija ei osallistu orientaatiotunneille, hänen osallistuminen opintojaksolle voidaan evätä.

Materials

The course literature will be clarified during the course. The student may choose to use the material of his / her choice according to the topics of the course. Moodle is used as an online learning environment, where students are guided in the course orientation lesson. The Moodle contains the individualized (perioperative nursing) objectives and content of the course, the literature in more detail and other material indicated by the teacher. In addition, the Moodle platform includes pre-requisites for theory teaching, independent assignments, group work assignments and exams, additional material on topics covered, etc.

Employer connections

Expert lectures during the theoretical instruction during the course. After the theoretical instruction, the students complete Clinical Practice 7 (15 ECTS credits).

Exam schedules

The teacher (s) of the course section will help you with the exams. Exam dates are listed in numerical order. Re-examinations will be announced during the course.
The date of the drug exam is shown in the course sequence.
The assessment of the course consists of two different exams (home exam (scheduled) and end (moodle) exam). In addition, independent assignments, drug exam, etc. are used to assess competence. Possible failures are negotiated separately with the teachers during / after the course orientation lesson.

Ei valinnaisia suoritustapoja. Opintojaksoa ei voi hyväksilukea aiemman osaamisen perusteella, koska kyseessä on sairaanhoitajakoulutuksen syventävän vaiheen opintojakso.

Lukujärjestyksen ajoituksiin saattaa tulla muutoksia, joten tarkista aikataulu.
Laboraatio-ja simulaatio-opetuksessa, POP UP-päivässä, työpajoissa, seminaarissa ja opintokäynnissä sekä lukujärjestyksen mukaiset pakolliset infot/opettajien tapaamiset on 100% läsnäolovelvollisuus.

Student workload

This is an advanced course in nursing education and is scheduled for the last semester of the student in accordance with the curriculum. To complete the course, you must have completed the basic studies. Professional subject studies must be completed (clinical nursing, acute care = surgical and perioperative nursing, long-term = internal patient nursing, child and adolescent nursing, health promotion, nursing of cronically ill patients = nursing of patients with special needs, mental health and substance abuse nursing, and both medical studies). Nursing Expertise Training cannot begin until all basic training has been successfully completed.
There is a duty of presence in theory teaching. Absence for valid reasons and reimbursement policies should be discussed with the implementation teacher.
The student confirms his / her participation in the studies by attending the course orientation course (cf. Degree Rule). If the student does not attend the orientation lesson, his / her participation in the course may be denied.
The student must inform the teacher of the possible special arrangement (learning disability, etc.) in good time BEFORE the start of the implementation (eg extra time in the exam) and show the decision on the special arrangement.

The assignments and MATERIALS prepared by the teacher are works in accordance with the Copyright Act (404/61) to which the teacher has copyright. Assignments AND MATERIALS may not be used except in their own studies. Their public distribution is only allowed with the permission of the teacher.

1 x end exam (0-5) includes two exams: anaesthesia nursing (1/3 of course evaluation) and scrub nursing. (1/3 of course evaluation)
1 x Pharmaceutical Mathematics (H / 0)
Independent assignments during the course are compulsory.

Qualifications

The student may choose the nursing expertise studies when he has completed the theoretical studies included in the professional nursing studies and clinical practices included in these, unless otherwise agreed in the student's ISP.
