Objective
Student
- knows how to interpret laboratory standards and apply what he has learned to practice in country laboratory conditions
- knows how to do key laboratory work related to the classification characteristics of painters
- knows how to classify aggregate types according to their granularity and strength for different uses
- masters the key load-bearing and tightness tests of earthen structures
Content
laboratory tests in the soil laboratory: granularity by dry screening, water content, hydrometric test, Proctor test, aggregate strength tests
- SFS-EN – standards and Asphalt standards
- load-bearing tests: load test and plate load test
Evaluation scale
0-5
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
Manages key soil laboratories and knows how to use bearing capacity measuring devices.
Assessment criteria, good (3)
The student can interpret bearing capacity measurement results and name soil materials and choose the right soil materials for the right places based on quality criteria.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
The student knows how to apply what she/he has learned in the preparation and measurement of quality criteria for an earthworks site.
Assessment criteria, approved/failed
Manages key soil laboratories and knows how to use bearing capacity measuring devices.
