Objective

On completion of the course the student understands the basics of project management and can write a project management plan. The student understands risks related to construction projects and can make a risk management plan.
The student understands the principles of entrepreneurship.

Location and time

Weekly lessons remotely.
Project management section exam in week 10 on site at school.

Materials

Lecture materials in the Project Management section, as well as the literature mentioned in them.

Teaching methods

The course is held remotely.
The course is divided into Project Management and Entrepreneurship sections.
The Project Management sections teacher is Kimmo Sani and the Entrepreneurship Jari-Pekka Mustonen.
The course starts with the project management section in week 3 according to the schedule.
Project management section weeks 3 - 10.
Entrepreneurship section from week 11 onwards.

Exam schedules

There will be an exam for the project management section in week 10. After this, there will be two more retakes. Information about these will be given after the exam.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student
- understands the project as a concept
- knows project types
- can make a project plan
- understands different areas of project management
- can analyse and manage risks.
- understands the principles of entrepreneurship

Assessment criteria, good (3)

In addition to the previous criteria, the student
can apply the aforementioned skills in different projects and problem situations.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

In addition to the requirements listed above, the student is able to
- manage a project independently
- avoid risks beforehand using a risk matrix
- combine different areas of project management and understand their importance.

The student

- understands the principles of entrepreneurship.

Assessment methods and criteria

Both sections of the course must be successfully completed.
A grade is given for each section of the course and the average of these grades forms the course grade.
