Objective

The student can calculate and simulate the building's cooling power demand, explain the structure and operating principle of the centralized indirect cooling system in building, and dimension the cooling system. The student can dimension and select cooling production equipment. The student can apply the instructions and recommendations of district cooling in the dimensioning of the cooling center.

Content

Regulations, instructions and recommendations. The cooling power demand of the building and premises and its calculation. Simulation of thermal conditions and cooling demand. Space cooling units. Direct cooling (DX). Cooling systems in buildings. Chillers and their dimensioning and selection. Room air conditioning unit. Structure, connections and dimensioning of the cooling water network. Sizing and selection of fan convectors. District cooling and dimensioning of the cooling center.
